Myrian DAUELSBERG
(Brazil)

She studied with Arnaldo Estrella and improved herself in Europe at the National Conservatoire of Paris with Vlado Perlemutére. She attended courses in Vienna with Bruno Seidelhofer at Accademia Chigiana (Italy), Carlo Zecchi and Lorenzi. She has been to several tours throughout Europe and USA with Duo Dauelsberg (piano and violoncello). She holds a Doctor Degree in Musicology by the University of Sorbonne in Paris.

Besides her position as incumbent of UFRJ'S School of Music, she carries out an active pedagogical activity. Her students have achieved important awards in national and international competitions, including: International Contest of Koln (Germany), Santander (Spain), Dublin (Ireland), Liszt (Holland), Barcelona (Spain), Epinal (France), Porto (Portugal), Andorra (Spain), San Marino (Italy), Salt Lake (USA), among others.

Myrian Dauelsberg was also director of Sala Cecilia Meireles, one of the most important concert hall in Brazil. as well as a member to several Councils of Culture, Office Head of the Ministry of Culture and Education . She was the Coordinator of the Science and Culture Forum of the Rio de Janeiro University(UFRJ 1994 to 1998). She is the President of Dell’Arte, the company responsible for more than 20years for the coming to South America of important orquestras, soloists, ballets and famous stars in the international musical scenario.

She has been a member to various juries in international competitions, including the Tchaikovski International Competition in 1998 and International Competion in Kiev in Honnor of Vladimir Horowitz

The awards she has been receiving include: Estácio de Sá Award (Government of Rio de Janeiro), Pedro Ernesto Medal, the Order of Rio Branco and l’Ordre des Arts et des Lettres (France). In 1998, she was chosen by the National Council of Brazilian Women as one of the 10 most important women of the year by her work in behalf of the classical music in Brazil. In 2005, she received the title of benefactor citizen of the State of Rio de Janeiro.
